DAY-BY-DAY PROGRAM
Day 1: Ouarzazate - Agdz - Draa Valley - Zagora - M'hamid - Erg Lihoudi
Departure at 9 am from your hotel or riad, where the driver picks you up.

We drive to the town Agdz and stop for Berber tea and refreshments. This is where the Draa valley starts. From here we drive offroad along Draa valley’s former caravan route until we reach the town of Zagora. Lunch in Zagora.

After lunch we pass by Tamegroute ceramic village and stop for a visit in a pottery shop.

We continue to the nomadic village of M’hamid. This is where the paved road ends and the desert starts. Camels are waiting to take you on a two-hours ride into the desert. You can go to highest sand dune where you enjoy an unforgettable sunset. The night is spent in a nomad tent close to the dunes of Erg Lihoudi.

Day 2: M'hamid - Off-road to Erg Chigaga dunes - Desert camp - Sandboarding
After breakfast you return by camels to M’hamid village for lunch. In the afternoon we leave in 4×4 car for the dunes of Erg Chigaga, a drive for 45 km offroad.  On the way we pass different features of the desert, like erg, reg, hammada and oases.

When you arrive to our desert camp in Erg Chigaga, you can climb the highest sand dune (about 300 metres), bury your feet in warm, soft sand and look at a wonderful sunset over sand dunes as far as the eyes can see. Enjoy the wonderful feeling of freedom, peace and silence – a totally unique and amazing experience.

Afterwards you can try the sandboards down the dunes.

Back in the camp there is time for a shower to freshen up. A three course delicious dinner is served in the restaurant tent. After dinner the nomads entertain you with traditional music around the fire place in the middle of the camp.

Enjoy a magical starlit sky and sleep in a nomad tent. Or, if you prefer, you can sleep outside under the stars.

Day 3: Lake Iriki - Rally Paris-Dakar route - Foum Zguid - Taznakht - Ouarzazate
Wake up early morning to watch the beautiful sunrise from the top of a sand dune. Or just wake up for breakfast before we start our way back to Ouarzazate through 100 km offroad driving in the desert. We follow the old route of the rally Paris-Dakar, across the dried out Lake Iriki. Fossils can be found in this part of Sahara.

We stop at Foum Zguid for lunch. The road back to Ouarzazate is paved and we stop at the village Taznakht, which is famous for its Berber carpets.

Arrival at Ouarzazate in the afternoon.
