Starting from M’hamid El Ghizlane, where the road ends and the desert begins, travel by 4×4 car with our skilled drivers for an off-road journey to the largest dune area in Morocco. CHOOSE FROM 2 DEPARTURES FROM M’HAMID EVERY DAY
Day 1: M'hamid - Off-road to Erg Chigaga - Desert Camp
Start from our office in M’hamid, at either 11:00 or 14:00.
We’ll embark on an exciting 1,5 – 2 hours off-road drive from M’Hamid to our camp in Erg Chigaga, passing through a variety of desert landscapes, such as pebble plains, stone plateaus and sand dunes. Along the way you may spot free-roaming donkeys and camels.
If your journey starts at 11:00, lunch will be served either in the camp or at an oasis (please see additional information below).
Once at the camp, enjoy thrilling sandboarding and watch a breathtaking sunset from the high dunes. End the day with dinner and traditional local music around the campfire. Sleep in a private tent, or outside under the stars (at your own choice).
Day 2 : Erg Chigaga - Visit a nomad family and an oasis
Day 3: Erg Chigaga - M'hamid
Maybe you want to wake up early to catch the beautiful sunrise? Or you can just get up to enjoy the camp breakfast.
After breakfast we start the tour back and you arrive in M’hamid before noon.
Hopefully you bring many nice memories from the tour.
Additional information
- During warmer months (May -September), lunch will be served at an oasis which provides cooler and shaded areas. For the rest of the year, lunch is served at our desert camp.
- Please note that during the warm season (May -September) when evenings are warm, the camp fire may not be lit.
- Water is available for purchase in the camp, or you can bring your own.
Optional activities day 2:
We can suggest the following amendments at your request:
- Take a camel trek for about 2,5 hours to an oasis for lunch. Return to the camp by camel (for new 2,5 hours) or we pick you up by our 4wd car.
- Spend the day with 1,5 hours camel ride in the dunes, try sandboarding, free walks and simply take time to enjoy the unique desert silence.

Our office in M’hamid El Ghizlane is located in the village centre and is easy to find. When you arrive to M’hamid, coming from Zagora, drive straight through the village’s only roundabout. You will see us on the left side, a little further down the street.
Behind our office is a public and safe parking at very affordable prices.
